The chemical division of the non food laboratory, in addition to conduct analysis on detergents, cosmetics and packaging, is able to verify the conformity with other non food products with the specifications declared by the producer. For example are analysed disposable products such as plastic glasses and tableware, freezer bags, garbage bags, rolls of paper to verify the number of pieces, the length, the net content, the sizes, the defectiveness, the inscriptions on the product and the pictograms.
However, functional verifications studied for every product are performed depending on the use of the product, for example:
- Traction and resistance tests of the materials
- Changeability of glasses and plates caused by the temperature
- Verification of the resistance of the thermal containers and thermal bags using calibrated probes able to record the external temperature and the temperature of the product inside the bags.
- Study of the absorbing properties of the incontinence aids
The laboratory performs analysis on animal litters, to evaluate the quality.
The most representative analysis are:
- Absorption of water
- Granulometry
- Release of ammonia
- Capacity of cationic exchange
- Agglomeration test
- Swelling index
The laboratory performs verifications on cotton and gauzes. Besides the product control and its packaging, we perform the chemical characterization according to the pharmacopoeia in force. The analysis include:

- absorbing power
- sulphuric ashes
- surface-ative substances
- substances soluble in water and in solvent
- extraneous fibers by microscopy
- fluorescence under lamp with UV rays
