BIODEGRADABILITY
Biodegradability of raw materials
Chelab performs studies of Biodegradability on raw materials in conformity to the European and international regulations indicated by Reach regulation and by regulation for the detergents N. 648/2004 of the European community.
The laboratory has a special division for the performance of studies aimed to the determination of primary aerobic biodegradability, fast biodegradability, complete biodegradability according to the following analysis procedures:- - OECD 301 guidelines
- - method ISO 11733
- - method ISO 14593
- test confirmation according to attachment VIII of regulation 648/2004
The accreditation of these studies in Good laboratory practice (GLP) allows the recognition of the same studies in function of European directives, competent organs and public contracts.
Biodegradability of plastic materials
The biodegradability and compostability are regulated by harmonized European standard EN 13432 that confers presumption of conformity with the European directive on packaging and on waste from packaging 94/62/EC.
A special division of Chelab is dedicated to the characterization of the plastic material and to the execution of studies of biodegradability in conformity to ISO 14855 and to ISO 17556.
- - characterization of the material
- - verification of the accordance with the regulations in force (in particular with the ones about alimentary safety)
- - studies of biodegradation to verify the conformity to European laws
