RHEOLOGY LABORATORY
The rheology division of the non food laboratory, further to analysis on detergents, cosmetics and packaging, is able to verify the conformity of other non food products with the technical specifications declared by the producers.
As a matter of fact, our laboratories can perform numerous tests on disposable products, such as glasses and cutlery made of plastic, fridge plastic bags, waste bags, rolls of paper to verify the number of pieces, the dimensions, the presence of eventual defects and inscriptions on the product.
Furthermore it is possible to perform a functional evaluation of each product depending on its specific use, as for example:
-
Evaluation of the resistance to traction , laceration and compression of plastics, papers and other materials.
-
Evaluation of the resistance to burst (maximum applicable Pressure: 50 Bar)
-
Evaluation of the resistance to flexion (for example on plastic cutlery and ear sticks)
-
Evaluation of the permeability to air of porous materials (in accordance with ASTM D3574), paper, felt
-
Evaluation of the permeability to steam of permeable materials( hides and leathers)
-
Evaluation of the resistance to light exposure of paper and paperboards and of plastic materials (UNI EN ISO 4892-2 method B)
-
Evaluation of the resistance to dishwasher washings of ceramic tableware in accordance with UNI EN 12875-4 and UNI EN 12875-5
-
Deformation of glasses and plates due to high temperatures
-
Evaluation of the resistance of thermic containers and bags by using calibrated probes which continuously register the external temperature and the temperature of the product inside the bag.
-
Evaluation of the absorption capacity of incontinence aids (by applying official SINAL accredited ISO and NMC methods) baby napkins, sanitary towels, panty-liners
Our laboratories perform analysis in order to evaluate the quality of litters for animals.
The most representative analysis are:
- Absorption capacity
- Granulometry
- Release of ammonia
- Cationic exchange capacity
- Agglomeration tests
- Swelling volume
The rehology laboratory performs analysis on cotton and gauzes. Further to the control of the product and of its packaging it is possible to perform chemical analysis in accordance with the Pharmacopoeia in force, such as:
- identification tests
- absorption capacity
- sulphuric ashes
- surface-active substances
- substances soluble in water and in solvent
- foreign fibres through microscopy
- fluorescence by using UV rays lamp
Furthermore it is possible to perform quality controls on toys in order to guarantee their safety and hygienic conditions; Chelab is able to supply to its Costumers a wide range of chemical analysis in accordance with UNI EN 71/3:2002.
Specifically our laboratory verify the migration of elements from toys, simulating the real conditions of use, when the product comes into contact, for a certain period of time, with gastric juices after the ingestion.
Chelab is promptly able to satisfy any request coming from its Customers thanks to the know-how of its staff and by using cutting-edge equipments.
